Frequently asked questions
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a great choice for first-time dog owners and families with children. Cavies are people oriented with an amiable temperament, making them receptive to training. Their toy size (9-20 pounds; 4-9 kg) and relatively low-level exercise requirements mean that they can live happily even in small apartments.
This breed sheds; it is NOT hypoallergenic. The wavy coat of a Cavie requires regular brushing as part of its care.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies can be born with a beautiful variety of coat colours.
These include:
Blenheim (brown and white)
Ruby (red)
Tri (black, white, and brown)
Black and tan
My dogs are raised on a raw food diet including goat’s milk, which gives them adequate protein and calcium for a healthy start. Puppies can be transitioned to a dry food once adopted.
All puppies are vet-checked for heart problems and other birth defects. They also receive their first routine vaccinations and are dewormed. I leave ears and tails natural.
I make a concerted effort to socialize new puppies and to begin housetraining as soon as possible.
Puppies can be re-homed as early as 8 weeks after birth. Generally, I prefer to have prospective owners come to see the litter and choose their own dog at that time.
I accept cash and e-transfer.
I welcome inquires about upcoming litters or questions about the breed. If you are interested in reserving a puppy from a future litter, I can do so with a deposit. Please contact me for details.
